PSHE- Personal, social, health and economic education
Qatar Culture Project
Our PSHE curriculum aligns with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) programme, focusing on enhancing national identity and Qatari culture while supporting students' personal and social development. This year, it centers around the Aseel Project, which aims to instill Qatari values. It focuses on strengthening national identity and Qatari culture in schools, while also promoting inclusive education.
Alongside the values instilled through the Aseel Project, our bespoke PSHE curriculum also incorporates the core Qatar Energy values of safety, integrity, respect, excellence, responsibility, and collaboration. These values form the foundation of our PSHE lessons, providing a framework through which students explore themes that are relevant to their personal lives. By embedding these values into the curriculum, we aim to help students develop a strong moral compass and the tools they need to navigate and overcome challenges they may encounter.
In addition to the weekly lessons, the themes explored in PSHE are reinforced during our weekly assemblies, where students have the opportunity to further discuss and reflect on key topics. These assemblies create a school-wide community of learning, where the values of safety, integrity, respect, excellence, responsibility, and collaboration are celebrated and integrated into all aspects of school life.
By focusing on both personal and social development through the lens of these important values, our PSHE curriculum helps students grow into responsible, respectful, and engaged members of both their school community and society at large.
