 Year 13

Key Stage 5 - Year 13

Life in Year 13 is a challenging and exciting one, where the ethos is that of high expectations from all our students. We encourage and nurture our students to make the most of their abilities and to achieve the very best results academically and creatively. We want all of the young people in our care to flourish academically and develop into highly capable, resilient and exceptional individuals. As such, we aim to provide a stimulating learning environment for all students with excellent levels of support, care and guidance that cultivate high standards in student progress, achievement and student behaviour.

In Year 13, we have a strong focus on academic rigour, self-discipline where students can focus on the subjects they have chosen at AS level and continue to A2. They may also undertake additional subjects to complement their existing qualifications. Our teachers will inspire, motivate and support them at every stage of their time in the Sixth Form and foster the skills and grades they need to succeed beyond the classroom. The Sixth Form team comprises of highly experienced teachers who aim to offer first class pastoral care and academic guidance and support. As our students become young adults, they are given many opportunities to contribute to the wider school community as they develop their skills and the confidence to prepare for life beyond school. There are many opportunities for our students to be involved and develop their wider skills such as Sixth-Form Committees, the Charity club, Model MUN, Debating Societies and Open House, to name a few.

Every year we encourage our students to aim high and we are proud of the many young people who go on to University and Further Education. In the past year our students have gone on to study at degree level in Universities in Qatar, England, Canada, Dubai, China and Malaysia.

In summary we are a small, growing and dynamic Year 13; big enough to offer a diverse curriculum choice, but small enough to provide individual care and attention to each student to achieve an enriching academic experience that will prepare them exceptionally well for life beyond education and in a career path of their choice.
