Extra Curricular Activities
After school activities provide enriching
opportunities to learn something new, extend particular skills beyond the
levels gained through the normal school curriculum, or to make new friends with
similar interests.Activities are held each day after school each day and all
students will have an opportunity to spend some time after school engaged in a
club, society or activity designed to broaden their experience and improve
Students will have opportunities to participate in activities that may be closely related to the subjects they study during the day, for example, a sporting club such as tennis, badminton, netball or creative clubs such as art, Knitting, drama, cross stitch, chess, public speaking or computers. On occasions, teachers will organize visits to a place of interest as a means of widening students knowledge and experience.
Times of Activities
Year 2 clubs begin each day at 12.30 PM. and end at 1.10 PM. Most Key Stage 2, 3 and 4 clubs begin straight after their school day and end at 2.45 PM. Other clubs are offered with a later start and finish. Details are given when clubs are advertised.
Students in year 2 and key stage 2 can choose from a variety of activities using the booklet which is sent out each term. The Activities Coordinator does the utmost to make sure students are given preferred choices and this is on a first come first served basis.
