Key Stage 5 - English Literature

At Mesaieed International School, we follow the Cambridge International AS and A Level Literature in English syllabus. Each of these components is a one year course, but completion of the A2 is dependent upon the completion of AS. During the course, students are introduced to some of the most compelling works of our literary heritage and invited to assess them from differing critical perspectives. The context in which works are written, and the authors concerns regarding the human condition are also evaluated. The effect of language, and the power of the pen through history, is analysed; coherent, articulate responses are structured by students which are rooted in the text.
